Game Description
You’ve never played World War 2 the way it was meant to be played… with lumbering tanks dominating the battlefield, crucial supply chains fueling the frontlines, being a cog in the machine of colossal combined arms warfare. Hell Let Loose puts you in the chaos of war, complete with deep player-controlled vehicles, a dynamically evolving frontline, and crucial platoon-focused gameplay that commands the tide of battle. This is a simulation of war… (continues…)
Step 1: Playing Conditions
Read below the game basic characteristics. If it is something you see yourself playing, move on to Step 2: Graphics & Sound.
Gameplay Overview
ADD another playing condition to this game: COMMUNICATION. It’s not essential to win (like most PVP games), but it makes the game 10 times more fun.
HELL LET LOOSE puts you in the middle of WW2, headphone & mic make this experience even more immersive. It’s not a 5v5 where a higher skilled player can carry the entire team, Rambo in this game will die. To live and win this 50v50 battle, follow orders, and respect the line.
Step 2: Graphics & Sound
Watch 5 to 10 minutes of any video below. If you like what you see and hear, move on to Step 3: Game Evaluation.
Step 3: Game Evaluation
Build your expectations about the game by learning what it offers and how was The Partisan Spy’s experience.
USER INTERFACE
It’s an EARLY ACCESS UI in every sense.
Not a lot of work has been put on it, images are placeholders and to join a game you need to select a server from a list. There is a lot of room for improvement, especially the map in-game.
STORY
HLL is set at WW2, Americans vs Germans. That’s the story, nothing more, nothing less. As in most HARDCORE PVP games, a plot is set to give a reason for the conflict and game dev efforts are focused on other variables of the game.
COMMUNITY POTENTIAL
PVP shooting games are an absolute category to attract and keep gamers attention. The biggest CHALLENGE for HLL is to make the game mode (50vs50) become a trend among the community. Some have already tried, all(?), or most have failed.
GAMEPLAY MOOD TRACKER
MOOD ANALYSIS
My mood was at high levels for nearly all the 25 hours: 80% of the time at EAGER or HIGHER. Being able to choose between roles was key to keep it high. Find the role(s) you like to play and you will have FUN! The last hours showed a drop as the game became usual, from there mood spikes appear just in special moments.
GRIND FEELING
You can play this game with NO REPETITION, even though it’s a shooting game. There are 14 different roles, 3 different spots at the tank, and another 2 spots at artillery guns to play with.
What may happen in the FUTURE is the inclusion of leveling and ranking systems, features that may bring the grind feeling.
LOVED THE MOST
The gameplay brings you as close as possible to a real war.
DISLIKED THE MOST
VoIP issues and the vaulting mechanic is sloppy.
EVALUATION SUMMARY
Hell Let Loose HONORS the worn-out EARLY ACCESS term (ruined by the industry). If you want to know what a REAL and honest early access game is, play HLL. The evaluation result is a reflection of that.
The CORE of the game is there with no “hiccups”. It offers what a PVP FPS game must deliver and beyond that, brings it with its own identity. Every dollar invested in this game was well worth it.
