Game Description
It’s an alternate universe where time travel manipulation has changed the face of professional sports as we know it. Quantum League, a heavily weaponized team-based shooting sport, dominates the globe. As a Quantum Athlete, compete in 1v1 and 2v2 matches in specially designed arenas with a time loop feature that rewinds and revives you, allowing you to tactically team up with yourself. Step 1: Playing Conditions
Read below the game basic characteristics. If it is something you see yourself playing, move on to Step 2: Graphics & Sound.
Gameplay Overview
Quantum League (QL) is a 1v1 and 2v2 shooter arena with a twist: TIME LOOP. Every ranked match has 3 rounds and each round has 3 loops. What you do in the first loop will automatically repeat itself in the next 2 loops. So if you get killed in the first loop, you can change the outcome on the second or third loop. In other words, at the end of every round, there will be 3 of you at the arena, one that you control and 2 repeating what you’ve done previously. Who wins 3 rounds first, wins the match. To be successful on QL you need to master 3 main skills: SHOOTING, STRATEGY THINKING, and BUNNY HOPPING.
Step 2: Graphics & Sound

Step 3: Game Evaluation

USER INTERFACE
The game UI is SIMILAR to the most recent FPS PVP games. It allows you to browse the athletes, weapons, store, season rewards, and player profile. The same goes for the HUD with the addition of information about the rounds, time loops, and clock countdown.
The highlight is the feature to see the arena map with the athletes’ tracks of previous loops, which helps you plan and adapt your game strategy.
STORY
QL is set in a competitive atmosphere around different arenas and 6 athletes, each one with different passive abilities. That’s the game story, nothing more, nothing less. As in most HARDCORE PVP games, a SIMPLE PLOT is set to give a reason for the “conflict”.
Each athlete has a proper name and if the game succeeds it can be expected some lore about them in the future.
COMMUNITY POTENTIAL
Competitive FPS is one of the biggest genres in the gaming industry, if not the number one. The POTENTIAL of building a community is huge same as the number of games competing for players’ hearts. QL has most of it set: tournaments, ranking, skins… On the other hand, the game has been in EA for over a year and the player base is still small. Time will tell if time loop + bunny hopping is a combination the community really loves.
MOOD ANALYSIS
The first 7 hours of gameplay the mood tracker averaged between NORMAL and EAGER. Learning QL, all its features, and playing around with time loop strategies maintained the mood at these levels.
As the novelty faded away, the lack of game mode variations (1v1), long queue times (2v2), and the small player pool started affecting my mood that went down to NORMAL for the remaining hours.
GRIND FEELING
This will seem paradoxical, but you can play QL with NO REPETITION, even though it’s based on time looping again, again, and again. There are 6 different athletes, 6 different weapons, 3 game modes, various maps, limitless strategies and you can do that solo or with a buddy.
The only downside is that 1v1 ranked matches have one game mode available, which can be compensated by playing other modes.
EVALUATION SUMMARY
A PVP game developed perfectly, free of bugs, and with great gameplay mechanics can be a complete failure. While a half well-done PVP game can be a huge success.
Different from PVE games, PVP games have one more crucial variable, the COMPETITIVE ENVIRONMENT. What’s the size of the player base? Are they friendly or toxic? What’s their average skill level? What’s their playtime average? How long does it take to find a match?
The Competitive Environment is key to players’ gameplay experience as this is the variable responsible for creating the “unpredictable”. And there is a fine balance to create a perfect Competitive Environment.
Matches can’t be too easy or players will soon get bored. Matches can’t be too hard or players will feel discouraged. The best matches are the ones that challenge your skills, that push you to your limits. Winning or losing you always learn something new to become a better player and will probably keep playing. To offer that to every player, 24 hours, 7 days a week the game needs a huge player base.
Today, as a new player in Quantum League, you will repeatedly play ranked matches with the same people and sometimes with players ranked in the top 10. At first, it is amusing being able to play against the best, in the long run, can be discouraging. Tough as it may sound, even though the game feels finished, QUANTUM LEAGUE COMPETITIVE ENVIRONMENT IS NOT READY. And at the FPS PVP genre, this is the biggest challenge for any game to succeed.
