(MAY VARY PER LOCATION)
Dive headfirst into a dystopian world devoid of society, law, and order. RAGE 2 brings together two studio powerhouses –Avalanche Studios, masters of open world insanity, and id Software, creators of the first-person shooter –to deliver a carnival of carnage where you can go anywhere, shoot anything, and explode everything. An asteroid has annihilated 80% of the earth’s population, and humanity’s numbers are dwindling. Ruthless and bloodthirsty gangs roam the open roads and the tyrannical Authority seek to rule with an iron fist. As… (continues…)
Step 1: Playing Conditions
Read below the game basic characteristics. If it is something you see yourself playing, move on to Step 2: Graphics & Sound.
11 abilities, 11 weapons, and 13 vehicles.
A shooting game with hundreds of POSSIBILITIES on how to play it. You can play the entire game with a rifle and a shotgun or you can mix it all up and have a BLAST with crazy combos.
Hard mode for veteran players is easy. If you love genre and mode, GO INSANE on this game. It rewards killing and fast pace advance (feltrite collection). Play it with RAGE and live up to its name!
Step 2: Graphics & Sound
Watch 5 to 10 minutes of any video below. If you like what you see and hear, move on to Step 3: Game Evaluation.
Step 3: Game Evaluation
Build your expectations about the game by learning what it offers and how was The Partisan Spy’s experience.
No game changer. The in-game menu is divided by TABS to help the player quickly find what he needs. At first, seems to be a lot of information but as you learn the topics of each tab, the game flows easily. PINK color gives a visual identity to the game.
The game happens around a story EASY TO UNDERSTAND, which helps players get involved with the game.
The story justifies the existence of side missions and collectibles, and why they help to upgrade the character.
Like most of PVE games, Rage 2 has a short attention life span in the gaming community. The content generation will be limited to achievements tutorials and playthroughs. That’s what an open-world + mission game has to offer.
GAMEPLAY MOOD TRACKER
The game is fun and intense. 17 of the 25 hours my mood was around EAGER and EXCITED and spiked 9 times to CAN’T STOP PLAYING IT. The last 2 hours of the evaluation (end of game story) were special in that sense.
The sad part of a happy game, key biding bugs. Something not expected in a game worth US$ 60.00.
There is a huge variety of missions to play and not all of them are about shooting. In 25 hours of gameplay, repetition wasn’t excessive and there was no grind feeling. PHOENIX, the car, also brings a nice twist. It’s a transport, a weapon, a friend (it talks) and you can heal it up.
Still, you may experience grind feeling as there is some repetition.
LIKED THE MOST
SFX is amazing.
Loved my car: Phoenix.
DISLIKED THE MOST
Key binding problems.
Searching before radar upgrade.
RAGE 2 is great to what intends to be: a PVE FPS shooting game with loads of personality. The concept of rage is all over gameplay experience: graphics, sound, combat and mechanics. RAGE 2 is able to convince players to don’t “play safe” and this a big part of what makes this a great PVE game.
The downside: it wasn’t 100% ready and its the price doesn’t gives margin to “polish the game” after the release. RAGE 2 will be a perfect buy when and if ready.
