A galaxy-spanning adventure awaits in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, a new third-person action-adventure title from Respawn Entertainment. This narratively driven, single-player game puts you in the role of a Jedi Padawan who narrowly escaped the purge of Order 66 following the events of Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith. On a quest to rebuild the Jedi Order, you must pick up the pieces of your shattered past to complete your training, develop new powerful Force abilities and master the art of the iconic lightsaber - all while staying one step ahead of the Empire and its deadly Inquisitors. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (SWJ:FO) is much more an ACTION than an adventure game. The balance of genres keeps the game loyal to what a Jedi really is.
The adventure elements are "breathers" to all the action in the game. In-between running, jumping, climbing and intense close combats, there is a story, easy puzzle-solving, and collectibles to explore. Besides all features that could be listed, the MOST RELEVANT aspect is how this game makes you feel. The gameplay takes you into the movies to live an adventure as a Jedi. |
Step 3: Game Evaluation
Build your expectations about the game by learning what it offers and how was The Partisan Spy's experience. SWJ:FO was played at Jedi Grandmaster level.

SOCIAL STATUS POTENTIAL |
The game menu and HUD are really SIMPLE, easy to understand and navigate. There is a codex linked to the collectible items and "lite-features" of customization and RPG (skill tree).
The game is full of small things that bring you into the Star Wars world and the UI MAP is a magic touch to that.

From beginning to end, it’s all about the STORY. Even though you can choose where to go and explore the areas for collectibles, puzzles, chests and world bosses, the evolution of the character is BONDED to storyline. The cutscenes and dialogues are elements that help you understand and feel part of the adventure.

Star Wars is BIGGER than a movie series; it became part of modern culture, translated in many different ways of art. Because of that, anything related to Star Wars has the potential to gather people around it and for gaming is no different. Nevertheless, as most PVE games, it has a short attention life span, content generation is limited.

GAMEPLAY MOOD TRACKER
MOOD ANALYSIS
Vertical Divider
Vertical Divider
To read my mood tracker, add an important variable, I am a Star Wars FAN. This means that my feelings of joy or frustration spike higher when compared to players that aren't fans.
That said, my mood high levels were 100% of the time between EXCITED and CAN'T STOP PLAYING IT and the low levels were most of the time at ENTERTAINED or higher. There are some small bugs and it also crashed twice in the 25 hours evaluation, but that wasn't enough to affect my constantly positive mood. |
GRIND FEELING
Vertical Divider
Vertical Divider
The story and the gradual character evolution play an important role, always bringing NEW elements to the game. This dynamic go on until the end of it.
As you progress, the Jedi gains new powers and abilities to his companion. Gaining XP also allows you to upgrade and ADD new moves to the character. All that in the middle of a worthy Star Wars story. The only possible situation a grind feeling may appear is while trying to complete 100% of the game searching for collectibles. |
LOVED THE MOST
The action gameplay sequences are incredible, made me feel inside the movies as a Jedi.
DISLIKED THE MOST
At combat in small places or corners, instead of adapting the angle/distance, the camera hides the character.

EVALUATION SUMMARY
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a GREAT example of how games based on movies should be done. This game expands, multiply and extend the Star Wars movie experience. It goes beyond; it adds a chapter to the Star Wars story, in which you are able to live as Jedi.
And that is the best part of SWJ:FO, it PERFECTLY recreates a Jedi from the movies to the game. Moves, powers, skills, principles, dilemmas, friends, challenges... Every game element was built and balanced to make us believe this could be a Star Wars movie adventure. After playing SWJ:FO, I am a BIGGER fan of Star Wars. This alone, should say a lot about this game. |
